- Deadly Pneumonia Hurts Tourism in Hong Kong - Slower business at hotels and restaurants is
a bad sign for a city already struggling to climb out of a recession.

- 31 in China killed by atypical pneumonia outbreak - An official of Guangzhou city government said
that that more than twice the officially reported number of cases
of atypical pnuemonia were seen in the province by the end of
February, with 31 deaths instead of the reported 5.
- Officials Probe Ease of Pneumonia's Spread - Health authorities are concerned about the rapid
rise in the number of cases, especially since they are still

- School closed after three students fall ill - A Scarborough elementary school has been closed
for the rest of the week after three kindergarten students came
down with fevers. Officials stress that the fevers are not known
to be SARS. [The Toronto Star]
- Singapore MOH: Closure of Schools - Announcement from the Ministry of Health and
the Ministry of Education that all elementary, secondary, and
pre-schools will be closing from 27 March to 6 April. This is
primarily to reassure parents, as strong screening was already
in place for signs of illness.
